Melissa Antman

Dr. Melissa Antman joined ARPA-H In November 2022 from the Immediate Office of the Director (IMOD) at National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she served on the ARPA-H planning team. Prior to the IMOD, she worked in the Center for Research Strategy at the National Cancer Institute, where she established and led the analysis team, and the Division of Extramural Research Activities and the Office of Science and Technology at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. She initially joined the NIH as Science and Technology Policy Fellow with the American Association for the Advancement of Science.  

Prior to government service, Antman was an investigator in pharmaceutics at Pharmacia & Upjohn/Pharmacia and at Bristol Myers Squibb, where she worked on programs spanning multiple therapeutic areas and stages of discovery and development. In PATIO, she builds capabilities to provide resources and services to ensure that ARPA-H breakthroughs translate into real-world solutions. She holds Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Wisconsin.
