On Tuesday, May 9, the ARPA-H Acquisitions and Contracting Office (ACO) will host a virtual talent search. ACO seeks a diverse pool of applicants interested in joining the agency. This event will be held from 1-2 p.m. EST on Zoom and will provide a brief overview of both ARPA-H as a whole and the role of ACO within the organization.
ARPA-H welcomes all applicants, particularly those with high-level experience in the federal government that involves research and development, prototyping, cooperative agreements, and other transactions.
About ARPA-H
ARPA-H strives to accelerate better health outcomes for all by supporting high-impact solutions society’s hardest health challenges. Like other advanced research projects agencies, ARPA-H provides funding to create new opportunities and solve important problems through ambitious, well-defined, and measurable programs. Each program is led by a Program Manager (or PM), who champions a core idea, frames a challenge, and awards projects to multidisciplinary teams of performers, whose work is then evaluated to ensure only the best solutions advance.
About ACO
The ARPA-H Acquisition and Contracting Office maintains authority to obligate ARPA-H money to commercial entities, academia, and research laboratories through the Head of Contracting Activity. ACO also holds a number of important internal responsibilities. These include:
- Advising the ARPA-H director and staff regarding all phases of the acquisition cycle – from planning to award and closeout – for procurements, prizes, financial assistance, purchase cards, and other transactions.
- Helping the assistant directors of program management and other staff with day-to-day acquisition management through dedicated contracting officer representatives.
- Consulting with Program Managers and other staff to develop rapid acquisition strategies, especially those that seek out optimal relationships with key business partners to execute program mission needs using various strategic tools.
