Shannon Greene, Ph.D.

Program Manager, Health Science Futures

Dr. Shannon Greene joined ARPA-H in January 2025 from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where she was a Program Manager in the Biological Technologies Office. At DARPA, Greene specialized in microbiology and focused on developing platform technologies for medical countermeasure discovery and manufacturing for national security.  

Greene also served as a scientific, engineering, and technical advisor for DARPA in her capacity as a senior scientist at ManTech. She provided technical support for numerous DARPA programs and managed collaborations across the U.S. government, including U.S. Special Operations Command, the Joint Program Executive Office, and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority.  

Previously, Greene was an American Academy of Microbiology Colloquium Fellow. She holds a doctorate in microbiology from the University of California, Berkeley’s Department of Plant and Microbial Biology.
