Tiffany Prest, Ph.D.
Director, Scalable Solutions
Dr. Tiffany Prest joined ARPA-H in September 2026 after serving as a Program Manager in the Biological Technologies office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Her portfolio applied biotechnology to national security challenges; supported scaling biological solutions across health and medicine, oil and gas, mining, and energy; and developed novel sensors and high-throughput microfluidic systems. Before DARPA, Prest was a lead scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton supporting federal clients. Earlier in her career, she was a scientist at Novozymes North America, working in microbial discovery and microbiome modeling.
Prest’s technical expertise spans computational biology, microbial ecology, systems-of-systems modeling, infectious disease, cell and molecular biology, and genetics, with a particular strength in applying physics, cryptography, and machine learning. In her role as Scalable Solutions Director, she will lead agency efforts to move promising health solutions from proof-of-concept to scalable, real-world deployment.
Prest completed postdoctoral fellowships at both Duke University and the University of Colorado Boulder after earning a Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular genetics from Duke.
