Customer Experience Hub Launch

The ARPANET-H Customer Experience (CX) Hub opened the doors at its new Dallas, Texas, space, with a launch event announcing its first initiative, called Advanced Clinical Trial Readiness. The CX hub is supported by a consortium with a nationwide network of spokes to create and transition lifechanging health solutions to improve the lives of all Americans.

ARPA-H National Hispanic Heritage Month Event

On September 18, ARPA-H hosted an event that celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month by recognizing Hispanic leaders in the healthcare field and inviting attendees to help chart a course toward future engagement between government, industry, academia, patients, and the Hispanic community. This event included two panels and a resource fair for attendees to learn more about opportunities to engage with ARPA-H.

Research Process and Funding Opportunities at ARPA-H

ARPA-H presented to the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences to discuss how psychological scientists can engage with the agency through applying to Program Manager positions, finding solicitations, and submitting research proposals.

Wegrzyn spoke alongside Dr. Francis Collins, head of Molecular Genetics Section for the NIH’s National Human Genome Research Institute; Esther Krofah, executive vice president of Milken Institute Health; Peter Sands, executive director of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; and Dr. John Wigneswaran, senior vice president at Walmart.

On April 13, Dr. Wegrzyn spoke on a panel to over 150 attendees about strategies for widely sharing the unique missions of the government, opportunities for integrating technology into an agency's mission, and the importance of encouraging the recruitment of women in tech. Dr. Wegrzyn was joined by Devon Beard, Director of People Operations at the Department of Veterans Affairs; Margie Graves, Senior Fellow at IBM Center for the Business of Government; and Melissa Vice, Director of the Vulnerability Disclosure Program within the Department of Defense.

Open Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) Virtual Proposers’ Day

On April 4, ARPA-H held a Virtual Proposers’ Day to outline the agency’s vision and to provide detailed information about the application process for its Open Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), calling for proposals related to breakthrough research and technological advancements. Participants were invited to learn more about the ARPA-H funding model and to ask questions of senior leadership about the awards process.

Draft Request for Consortium Agreement (RCA) and Site Selection Virtual Proposers’ Day

Wegrzyn spoke alongside Dr. Keith Yamamoto, vice chancellor for science policy and strategy at the University of California, San Francisco; Doug Friedman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BioMADE; and Jay Keasling, Philomathia Professor of Alternative Energy at the University of California, Berkeley, and CEO of the Joint BioEnergy Institute.
