MarginCall: High-resolution, high-content histology for rapid surgical guidance
Emory University will build a novel microscope that uses fluorescence-imitating brightfield microscopy, a fluorescence-based, low-cost rapid imaging technique. This method uses fluorescence from inside the sample to backlight the sample surface, creating images that look similar to conventional pathology without requiring conventional sample fixation. They will also develop sophisticated automated algorithms to classify cancer cells.
