AI-Guided Cell-Free Biosynthesis Platform for Sustainable API Production

The objective of this work is to develop a generalizable AI-guided CFBS-based API biosynthesis platform that cost-effectively produces complex API molecules such as QS-21. This platform will have two major components: (1) AI-guided Biosynthesis Route Planning System (ABRPS) to optimize API production pathways, identify the best microorganism extracts and, most importantly, design expressible, foldable, and functional enzymes for CFBS, (2) high-throughput (HTP) enzyme screening assays that not only quickly identify highly active and specific enzymes from hundreds to thousands of unique enzyme combinations but also generate high quality and systematic data for iterative AI model improvements.
