TRANSFORM-L: Transforming Lymphatic Disease and Management From Filariasis To Chronic Conditions
This project aims to understand how filarial exosomes influence host immune responses to design a novel integrated microfluidic device for detecting microfilaria (Mf) and to develop effective antibody-boosting therapies. The team will create a sensitive diagnostic platform for specific post-treatment Mf detection. Importantly, both the microfluidic architecture and the exosome-based immunomodulation framework are inherently adaptable, providing a scalable foundation that can be translated to diagnostics and antibody-boosting therapies for other infectious diseases and chronic conditions beyond lymphatic filariasis.
