Approximately 50 million Americans live with an autoimmune disease. For patients today, an accurate diagnosis can take months or years because they arrive at the doctor’s office with vague symptoms across multiple organ systems. These testing delays result in worse health outcomes that strain our overburdened health systems. CATCH aims to develop a platform to diagnose a broad range of autoimmune states from a simple blood draw. The new platform will integrate cutting-edge microfluidics, optics, and AI modeling to analyze a patient’s white blood cells and then look for correlations with corresponding medical records. If successful, CATCH could reduce the time to diagnose autoimmune diseases from years to mere minutes.
