OPTIMAL: Oral Platform for Therapeutic Intestinal Metabolic And Local - Delivery

This project advances Syntis Bio's Synthetic Tissue-Lining (SYNT™) platform, a polymer-based oral technology for localized intestinal drug delivery and targeted lymphatic uptake. The initial focus is SYNT-212, an oral enzyme therapy for homocystinuria, a rare inherited metabolic disorder with no approved therapies, with broader applications across metabolic, oncologic, and immune-mediated diseases. By validating SYNT as a clinical platform for gut-targeted therapies designed to scale across many diseases, the work reflects ARPA-H's mission to fund broadly applicable technologies the market cannot deliver alone.
