Request for Information: Agentic Artificial Intelligence systems

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is conducting market research on next-generation Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems and their potential applications to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone.  This Request for Information (RFI) seeks to enhance ARPA-H’s understanding of the Agentic AI landscape to aid ARPA-H in setting strategic direction for its research and development initiatives leveraging Agentic AI.

View the full RFI (75N992-25-RFI-106) and submission instructions: Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Health care

ARPA-H requests information on the current state of AI Agents use and deployment in healthcare settings beyond the standard use of large language models. What are the roles and specific tasks that AI Agents are deployed to achieve in healthcare settings? What are the barriers to entry for deploying AI Agents in real world settings?

To fulfill the mission of ARPA-H to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone, the agency wishes to understand the edge of what's possible for Agentic AI. The RFI contains questions regarding the following topic areas:

  • Implementation of Agents
  • Multi-Agentic AI
  • Accessibility of existing Agents
  • Interoperability and Interacting Agents
  • Protocols for Interacting Agents
  • Assurance and Trustworthiness
  • Robustness (i.e. performance, security, privacy, taskability, self-behavior modeling/updating)
  • Scalability
  • Autonomy
  • Risks

Given that deploying AI Agents needs to be done in a responsible manner (e.g., ethically, safely, sustainably, etc.) ARPA- H also seeks information on AI policy with regards to deploying not only Agents but also models in an autonomous manner.

The full RFI and instructions to respond can be found at sam.gov. Interested parties are requested to submit their response to the RFI no later than 4:00 PM ET on November 29, 2024 to eureka@arpa-h.gov
